The practice has partnered with Iagnosis, Inc. to give Montana patients easier access to high-quality dermatology care through any web-enabled device
Bozeman, MT, June 8, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Patients across the state of Montana now have convenient, travel-free access to high-quality dermatology care through online visits with Montana Skin Cancer and Dermatology Center. Thanks to the practice’s new partnership with leading teledermatology solution provider Iagnosis Inc., patients can easily consult with board-certified dermatologists without an appointment, simply by uploading photos and their medical information through secure desktop and mobile apps.
Montana Skin Cancer and Dermatology Center’s providers Dr. Aaron Bruce, DO, FAOCD, and Julie Henningsen, PA-C, will review the submitted skin photos and medical information from online patients and then respond with a diagnosis, personalized treatment plan, and any prescriptions sent to the patient’s preferred pharmacy. Online visits typically complete in 24 hours.
Given the very rural nature of our state, many patients have to invest a lot in appointment wait and travel times to see a dermatologist. Our solution eliminates the need for that, while giving high-quality care. Dermatologists receive extensive training using photographic images, so teledermatology is a perfect fit for us. Patients can feel good about this option.

Here’s how it works:
· An online dermatology visit guides patients through several simple steps of creating a patient profile, collecting some medical history and uploading photos of their problem condition.
· After review, the dermatologist provides a diagnosis and personalized treatment plan within three business days, which includes routing any necessary prescriptions to the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
· When medically necessary, the patient will be referred for an in-office visit.
Montana Skin Cancer and Dermatology Center’s online visit service can also be used by parents or guardians to conduct online dermatology visits for children or others in their care, without both the surrogate or patient needing to miss work or school.
Among the more than 3,000 conditions for which patients can access the system are acne, rashes, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, toenail fungus, suspicious moles, melanoma and other skin cancers.
The online visit solution is enabled through a partnership with Iagnosis, the largest provider of a teledermatology-exclusive platform currently used by more than 150 board-certified dermatologists across the U.S. The solution is compliant with HIPAA and HITECH national online healthcare information standards for patient data security.
Recent data shows that teledermatology is increasing patient access to care. A May 12, 2016 report by DermWireTV for Practical Dermatology cited a recent study that found practices who offer teledermatology have seen a 64% increase in patients seeing a dermatologist.
